FIXATION 2011 is a touring screening program which is made in collaboration with different international venues and organisations.
The idea is to make a small event with screenings and installations as a part of a existing venue or in collaboration with a host organisation. This way we can reach an international audience of video art, media art and experimental cinema lovers. It is also a possibility for us to build a living network with like minded artists and organisations for future co-operation.

Anthology Film Archives is a film archive and theater located at 32 Second Avenue on the corner of East 2nd Street in the East Village neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City devoted to the preservation and exhibition of experimental film. It is the only non-profit organization of its kind in New York City, independent through self-support. In addition to preserving and exhibiting films – about 700 public screenings yearly – Anthology also publishes books and catalogs and houses a research library and art gallery.
The Archives was founded by Jonas Mekas, Stan Brakhage, P. Adams Sitney and Peter Kubelka and opened on November 30th, 1970. Today it keeps around 11,000 films and 3,000 videotapes and is one of the largest archives of avant-garde and experimental cinema in the world.

‘Eestaas’ means back and forth in Finnish. Shot on 16mm, the film is intended to be projected forwards and then backwards. This work combines experimental film with electro-acoustic music. Together, they form a comprehensive experience which adds up to more than the sum of its parts. The music is produced by Samuli ‘Teho’ Majamäki, and the other musicians appearing alongside him are Ilpo Väisänen (Pan sonic), Tapani Rinne, and Verneri Lumi (Rinneradio).

Found ethnological footage of life in Finland projected and tweaked by Seppo Renvall and Juha van Ingen. The live soundtrack, composed by Jarkko Räsäsnen, combines original sounds from the film footage and field recordings of audio elements suggested by the images.

PERFORMANCE (DIY live Art) by Juha van Ingen and musicians or poets from Marseilles
The participant (or several participants at the same time) freely interpretate (by talking, singing or playing a musical instrument etc.) a projected video with a rhythmic looped soundtrack. The video has no subtitles only a bar where you can see when the video starts and ends. The participant(s) has a choice of four different videos: Road, House, Love and Work.

Comprising a television set, dry leaves and an upside-down video camera, the installation creates an endless real-time feedback continuum of layered leaves. The viewer can step between the camera and TV set and become a part of the flow.
The Hare and The Turtle by Juha van Ingen
A interpretation of the famous fable by Aesop where competition is under scrutiny. The two video loops are animations made of still images of a tree and a rock. In the other loop the tree is the centre of focus in the other loop it is the rock.

‘Attraction of the opposites’ brings 11 professional and international galleries to co-exist under one roof. The project will be presented in the space of Artists Initiative CUCOSA in Rotterdam during 3 major events: International Film Festival Rotterdam, Art Rotterdam en Rotterdamse Museumnacht.
The project is part of IFFR’s XL jubilee program. Especially for this occassion there will be two compilations of Dutch art videos presented with work by Serge Onnen, Jan van Nuenen, Jasper Scheepbouwer, Adonis Migkos, Martin Hansen, Anne Hartog, Alexander van Merle, Toine Klaassen, Cindy Jansen, Gil & Moti and Duro Toomato.
